INFORMATION ABOUT MY PRACTICE
Have you ever thought about creating your own preventive healthcare plan for yourself BEFORE you actually get sick? What would you include in your healthcare plan? Here are some ideas: Are you drinking enough water (ideally ½ your body weight in ounces) daily? Are you getting enough nutrition from the foods you eat throughout the day? Are you exercising daily? Are you getting enough play time to balance your work schedule? Are you resting enough?
If you are not healthy now, how can you fully participate in your own life? Adding holistic, therapeutic alternatives are ideas to include when creating or changing your own healthcare plan. An option to consider in your healthcare plan is receiving routine massage-bodywork therapy sessions.
My practice primarily focuses on stretching contracted connective tissue (muscles, tendons, ligaments, etc.) and deactivating trigger points, which allows your body to release pain and to find its natural alignment so that you can move without feeling pain. I specialize in several modalities from gentle to intense. My website is very informative, so please visit to learn more about my services and massage-bodywork benefits and tips for before, during, and after your sessions.
My session rates are reasonable – check my website for the latest prices. When new clients call for an appointment with me and they mention your name as the referral, I will discount your next appointment by $10. Visit my website for or more information about appointment times and my studio location in Ocean Beach/Point Loma.
I have gift certificates available for the upcoming holidays! There are still outstanding gift certificates out there too, so don’t forget to use them!
I am available to speak to your company or organization about general health and the benefits of massage-bodywork therapy. If your company is interested in establishing or maintaining a wellness department to provide pain and stress prevention to its employees for improved work performance, please, contact me.
If you have any questions about my services and would like to set up an appointment, please, call or email me. I look forward to working with you at your next appointment!
QUOTE OF THE MONTH
“If you can sleep, you need the sleep.” –Douglas Graham
BODY, MIND, SPIRIT TIP
Feeling exhausted right now? Did you get hit with a cold or the flu lately? The best cure is rest (rest means “doing nothing”!) and sleep! Rest and sleep are definitely some of the best things you can do for your health, other than drinking lots of water, of course! Having sufficient sleep benefits alertness, memory and problem solving; improves immunity and overall health; and reduces the risk of accidents. The lack of proper rest provides deficits in concentration, motivation, perception, and developing obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and other diseases. This is easily reversible with just getting more sleep into your life routine.
Many people say they just don’t have time to sleep!? Crazy, but getting enough sleep will greatly improve productivity and health. If you have difficulties resting and sleeping, consider trying very gentle, relaxing yoga, a warm bath, listening to peaceful music, watch (fun) movies, read (your favorite) books and magazines, play with your pets, and/or turning off the TV and computer. Also, incorporating meditation and/or prayer as a part of your “rest routine” could greatly improve your well-being and your need for more sleep.
RESOURCE OF THE MONTH
There are tons of information on the internet about sleep and rest. Google “sleeping” and “sleep and rest” and read until you feel sleepy or find what relates to you. Libraries and local book stores can help you with your research, too.
When I was 10 years old, my parents took me to a Transcendental Meditation (TM) center to learn how to meditate. It made a difference in my life, even today. You can Google “meditation” and there will be plenty of reading material to get you started in creating your own meditation program as a part of your healthcare plan.
