Health-Massage-Bodywork Tips

Summer is almost here!  If you haven’t already, it’s time to get your body in motion.  People have a tendency of not moving around, especially when some part(s) of their body hurts, when they feel depressed, etc.

Although, some doctors are moving towards “alternative” medicine, “Doctors’ New Advice for Joint Pain: Get Moving”.  A step in a healthy direction.  However, there is much more YOU can do in creating and maintaining a healthy lifestyle rather than the current medical paradigm of prescribed/OTC medications, surgeries, extra devices (shoe inserts, canes, etc.), etc.

Here are some natural tips for your journey to optimal health and to weight loss, less injuries, positive thinking, etc.  Of course, most of these are not mentioned in the article…

1) Get hydrated.  Drink minimally ½ your body weight in ounces of water daily for the rest of your life.  So many benefits to drinking water – see the Reference section below.

2) Greatly minimize (possibly stop consuming) CRAP (candy/sugar, refined foods, alcohol, processed foods).  Eat a nutritious diet of natural foods (fruits, vegetables, nuts/seeds).  Supplement if you have to, but do your research.

3) Exercise daily and stretch your body especially the areas that feel tight.  Remember walking is the easiest and best exercise for the human body.

4) Get outside daily.  Get some sunlight on your skin and breathing deeply.  It all just feels good!

5) Get adequate rest.  Sleep recharges the body for the next day’s activities.

6) Resolve your personal, emotional issues.  Work with a counselor, support groups, etc.  When these issues get resolved, you will feel better and body pain may just go away…

7) Work with a massage-bodywork practitioner who specializes in connective tissue (like me).  You can complement massage-bodywork sessions with a movement practitioner, too, for maximum benefits (like yoga, Egoscue, Pilates, Tai Chi, karate, Feldenkrais, etc.).

This may sound somewhat “woo-woo” to you, but give it a try, you might experience some surprising results.

Even Dr. Oz has similar tips:  1) Walk 2) Real food, and 3) Passion.

Information about My Practice

See if you notice anything different at your next visit to my studio…

Do you identify yourself by the discomfort you are feeling lately?

Are you dependent on pain medications or considering splints and other supportive devices (like canes, shoe inserts, etc.), shots (like cortisone, steroids, etc.), and surgery?

Are you tired of chronic pain, tingling, numbness, always getting injured, experiencing stress fractures, and lack of strength anywhere in your body?

Do you want improved movement, better range of motion, and restful sleep?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, I can help you with the connective tissue massage-bodywork therapies I use as a part of my practice.

My website is very informative, so please visit to learn more about my services, session prices, and my schedule along with massage-bodywork benefits and tips for before, during, and after your sessions.

I would like to partner with other health practitioners (orthopedic surgeons, dentists, naturopathic doctors, chiropractors, psychological counselors, athletic and life coaches, acupuncturists, movement instructors/practitioners), health facilities (gyms, exercise studios (karate, yoga, dance)), and small businesses in the city of San Diego.  My practice does complement these services to bring about more health and well-being to people.  If you have any recommendations, please connect us by sending them my e-newsletters and contact information, OR I would be happy to contact them directly!

I can provide demonstrations and classes about health and massage-bodywork to businesses and their employees.  Review My Calendar for the talks and health/wellness events I’ve completed in the past in the San Diego community.

If you have any questions about my services and would like to set up an appointment, please, call or email me.  I look forward to working with you at your next appointment!
